It would be tough.
In a perfect world, I’d have both. I’d replace my wife’s Vibe with the iM, and keep Accord for myself. But that’s like... $25k to $35k total cash that I will definitely not be spending on vehicles.
Oh well. Fun to dream.

Harold can’t drive stick
![]() 02/09/2017 at 22:19 |

Solution: buy a stick car, then you have to learn.
![]() 02/09/2017 at 22:21 |

Easy, just take out a 15 year loan on them!

No, I mean the Accord I would buy with be a stick.

Yes! I shall heap it upon my mortgage and student loans to create LOAN ISLAND

I figured. What I meant was if the honda bro can’t drive a stick all he has to do is buy a manual car, then he’s forced to learn.

He lives in Lynnwood. A stick shift in that town is not exactly enjoyable.

This is why i drive to white castle with him

Meh, it works out. Still ended up being much cheaper to buy a house than keep renting. I have coworkers that pay $1400 for 1-bedroom apartments... Not anywhere near Seattle, mind you.
![]() 02/09/2017 at 22:26 |

But we don’t have a White Castle in this county. We’ll have to ship him to your coast via FedEx Freight.

Tough choice, Accord give you more power, but the Corolla is a hatchback. I’m so glad we can call it a Corolla.
In reality I wouldn’t consider buying either of them.

I believe it. When I was at JBLM a couple people who lived off post offered to rent a room to me, because the rent was so crazy.

I said I don’t drive stick and that I have no interest to. I can drive stick.

It’s always hard to get ahead when it’s so costly just to tread water. Like right now. Chandelier inspections may not sound lucrative, but I do just fine. Yet I feel I’ll never be at a point where I can drop $17,000 on a 2-year old Accord. That’s money best spend in savings, or investments (I should try that...), home improvement... WHATEVER.

C’mon. You’re missing out. Imagine sitting at the light on 208th and 99 for 23 minutes on a Friday afternoon, but with an extra pedal and increased anxiety!

My cousin living in NYC said the same thing. He has a finance job and a small apartment and said he literally can’t save any money.
Reason #28 to live in Texas!

Corolla iM manual, perfect fun-ish family car for well under $20k brand new.

Like I said on here before: dual income... You can go places with a cohesive team (that also has sex).

I want the Auris to be available here without the side skirts and bumper weirdness.
Like this
I’m not gonna buy one, but I’d be more likely to consider it if it looked like that. Mostly I’m tired of looking at the weird skirting.

BUT NOT WELL-UNDER $20k ENOUGH FOR ME

10/10 would accord coupe. There was one down at our subaru dealer, a 6 spd manual and I got lusty all over it. Teal blue, with black leather. Dayum it was nice.

Yeah, but then you run the risk of kids and it is a zero sum game.
![]() 02/09/2017 at 23:33 |

That’s why you heap up the cash while you can for a few years. If you were to have kids. Hypothetically speaking.

You mean you shouldn’t get your wife pregnant while taking a year off before applying to medical school? FML
Good news is if you can hustle and live in a cheap city kids aren’t all that expensive.
![]() 02/09/2017 at 23:42 |

No, I should definitely not get your wife pregnant. I would at least have the decency to warn you in advance.

Confession time:
I let my kids watch Futurama a few times because I was tired and didn’t want to watch some crappy cartoon. They would lose their shit if they got a Zoidberg sibling.

Can I get the Honda with those Scion wheels. That Scion has really nice wheels.

Looking at the deals on these currently, strongly considering it as DD and utility car and retiring the Z4M from the 880/bridge/mogadishu commute.

CPO Mini Countryman is another good fun/dollar/practicality value
